2-Day Break

• Day 1 – Morning departure from London or Ashford and travel to Folkestone for the Eurotunnel crossing to Calais. Travel through France with historical explanation en route and stop for lunch in Arras. Personal War Cemetery visits on our way to Péronne in the Somme Valley. Check-in to the Best Western Hotel, St. Claude for a one-night stay. Private visit and drinks reception at the Historial de la Grande Guerre museum followed by dinner at a local restaurant. D
• Day 2 – Personal War Cemetery visits and tour of the Somme battlefield area. Wreath laying at Thiepval Memorial to the Missing followed by packed lunch. Depart for the return Eurotunnel crossing arriving back in London late evening. B, L

Please note: On this tour local joining points are not available. The tour starts and ends at London although pick-ups on the outbound journey and drop offs on the inbound journey are available at Ashford. If you wish to stay in London for the night before or after your tour we can book rooms in the Union Jack Club near Waterloo at a reasonable price. Please ask for details.

Accommodation
You will stay for one night at the 3-star Best Western Hotel St. Claude. The hotel is located in the centre of Péronne, between the 16th century castle and the museum. All rooms were renovated in 2005.
